We run one off workshops from time to time on specialist subjects with guest coaches, such as our Strongman Picnic, Eat Like It Matters, Introduction to Wrestling and BJJ, Storytelling Through Yoga and Introduction To Olympic Weightlifting. Workshops are our “limited edition” sessions and usually get fully booked, so we make sure that the class size is appropriate for the session content.
Workshops are not covered by monthly subscriptions, but you get 10% off if you are a voting member.
A Weight-Neutral Approach to Health
Time: Saturday 22nd February 2020, 15:00-17:00
Cost: £12 (10% off for co-op members)
Workshop leader: Cathy Liddiard
The mainstream view of health tells us that being within a certain BMI range brings the lowest health risks. However, in response to centuries of failed diets, the detrimental effects of intentional weight-loss and gaps in the scientific evidence on the impact of higher body weight – a new approach has emerged.
If you are interested in hearing more about a weight-neutral approach to health (one that welcomes all body sizes), join us for this presentation by Cathy Liddiard, who is currently studying for a masters in Health & Wellbeing at the University of Bristol.
(Please note, we will be discussing weight stigma, fatphobia and eating disorders.)
To book on, scroll to the workshop in the calendar below. All of our bookings are handled by TeamUp. There is a detailed walkthrough of using TeamUp here. Payment can be made through Stripe or GoCardless for recurring payments.
Workshops also be available to book on Move GB a week in advance.
